That's More Like it

Bravo to me! I went home this weekend and I still manged to lose ~1/2 a pound. I also managed to exercise once while home and today I got back on the treadmill with a vengeance. If it weren't for the fact that I desperately need new sneakers, I would have gone longer. But my feet hurt. The new shoes are on order but I have a weird size that they don't have in stock and there is a certain pair that fits me well. Also I have been reluctant to spend money on any "luxuries" recently, but it has now become a necessity.
So I wanted to share today's WW post after tracking my weight loss.
You lost again this week! Congratulations, and keep doing exactly what you're doing!

See you next week.

I honestly think they are trying to make up for something that they messed up really badly last week. AS if, last week they were really glad about my weight loss, last week they practically slapped me in the face. This week they are all "congrats" and everything. BTW the icon today was a trophy not a smiley face. I wonder what it takes to get a smiley face.
I think I am beginning to take this too seriously ;.
I need some advice from my trusted friends for this week, please.
I am desperate for a new snack type food for afternoon snack. Since I was a child I packed my lunch as a main dish, fruit, veggie and snack and I can't get away from it. I like eating a lot during the day and less at night. So since I am eternally fleishig (refer to previous blog), I need some pareve treats for the mid afternoon. Low cal/ points. So far what I normally eat is either soy chips or air popped popcorn.
I am getting all soyed and popped out. Any suggestions?
Thanks my friends. Happy Dieting and remember this concept brought to us by Mark Twain:
Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.

YAY GREAT NEWS!!! It's great that you came back with such a positive report. Here are some thoughts for snax:
wheat crackers (the kind that actually are healthy) with a low cal dip or spread (avocado is what i have been bringing, or tuna, or low fat cottage cheese for any days you arent fleish?)
baked chips
apple sauce
a little peanut butter with something
nuts
a small bag of cereal (like that bran stuff)
google healthy snacks and see what ideas they offer?

mazal tov on the weight loss -especially over vacation! bravo! i vote for toasted chickpeas...you can make them sweet or salty depending on what you put on them, or jsut have them plain. also, for some reason, pineapple seems to be in season now and it's really fresh and sweet - it's really refreshing for a midafternoon snack.

Yay on the weight loss! I'm proud of you!

I say carrots and chummus. This is my snack of choice. Healthy and yummy! Bring a big ole bag of carrots to work with a container of chummus and dole yourself out one serving at a time....

Also, a personal favorite of mine (but often hard to find in stores) are these snacks called potato flyers made by the same brand as Pirate's Booty. They are pareve and low-cal and (in my opinion) quite delicious. Or, the ever popular, Fat free ruffles, if you can handle the Olestra that is.

Keep up the good work!

I found this on webmd. I thought some ideas are better than others, but I forgot all about graham crackers. 2 graham crackers are 100calories and I like them.
here is a list of 20 100 calorie snacks.
1. Half an apple with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
2. An orange and a few dry-roasted nuts
3. 10 cashew nuts
4. 10 almonds
5. 2 ounces of lean roast beef
6. Half a small avocado
7. 3 ounces cooked whole-grain noodles with 1 fresh tomato and 1/2 ounce hard cheese
8. 1 seven-grain Belgian waffle
9. 4 mini rice cakes with 2 tablespoons low-fat cottage cheese
10. 3 ounces low-fat cottage cheese and 3 whole-wheat crackers
11. 1/4 cup fat-free ranch dressing with mixed raw veggies
12. 6 Wheat Thins crackers with two teaspoons of peanut butter (or any nut butter)
13. 1 small baked potato with 1/2 cup salsa and 2 tablespoons of fat-free sour cream
14. 1/3 cup of unsweetened applesauce with 1 slice of whole-wheat toast, cut into 4 strips for dunking
15. 1/2 cup frozen orange juice, eaten as sorbet
16. 2 large graham cracker squares with 1 teaspoon peanut butter
17. 3 handfuls of unbuttered popcorn, seasoned with herbs
18. 4-6 ounces of no-fat or low-fat yogurt
19. A 5-ounce tossed salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and 1/4 cup fat-free dressing
20. Half a "finger" of string cheese with 4 whole-wheat crackers

SaraK I have no idea how to get the hyperlink in the comment, but I figured it out in the post.

Um, I think someone should call up WebMD and let them know how many noodles come in 3 ounces. :)

Just my $.02.

Congrats on the loss! Very impressive considering travel, etc.

I'm a big hot air popcorn person. have you tried seasoning it with other spices, not just salt?

I also have taken to making a big pot of low-cal soup and eating it in the afternoon to tide me over from 4 PM til I get home (usually not til 7). If you have a microwave at work, you can double wrap and heat it up.
